Demoniac - Blasphemy (2) - Blood Upon The Altar / Gods Of War (Vinyl, LP, Album)

 · This edition of Blood Upon the Altar marks the first time since its original release that it has been properly featured as a stand-alone album. For far too long, this demo was tacked as bonus tracks onto the end of the Gods of War album, leaving the impression that Blood Upon the Altar was of lower stature; in fact, for many, Blood Upon the Altar is the most powerful Blasphemy release of all.

Along with bands like Von and Profanatica, Blasphemy helped move black metal away from rock-based metal and further towards twisted avant-noise. This album embraces primitivity and abrasion almost for it's own sake and comes off simultaneously horrifying and ridiculous, often in the same moment/5(12).

 · Added to the second full-length Gods of War to compensate for the album's overly short running time. Two-sided, pro-printed inlay and blank black tape (sometimes with typewriter labels). Recording information: Recorded in at Fiasco Bros. Studios.

  1. Reissue of the second album and the demo on LP, this time with Gods Of War on one side and the demo on the other side of the LP. The original pressing on Osmose had the "Apocalypse Side" on Side A (about 10 minutes) and the "Abyss Side" plus the demo on Side B (about 30 minutes) /5(16).

  2. A2 is misspelled as "Blood Upon The Alter" The original cover artwork intended for this release was also changed by Osmose without the band's consent. The real artwork is featured on the die hard reissue by Nuclear War Now and the poster of the repress on Ordo Decimus Peccatum/5(35).

  3. View credits, reviews, tracks and shop for the Vinyl release of "Blood Upon The Altar / Gods Of War" on Discogs.
